May 18th-24th is National Vegetarian Week here in the UK and the theme is ‘share.’ What better excuse is there then to share some of my favourite blogs with you all! Today I am sharing The Friendly Fig, a US-based veg food & lifestyle blog run by friends Bianca and Sara.
Hey there – Bianca from The Friendly Fig here! I’m so excited and honored to be guest blogging on The Tofu Diaries… I’m quite a fan of Natalie’s and was very excited to be asked to participate this week. Thank you, Natalie! <3
Who the hell am I? Yeah, I guess I should start there. I’ve been a vegan for exactly a year now, and I created The Friendly Fig as a way for me to not only document my successes and recipes, but to share with the rest of the world that veganism is not a sacrifice! I’m making it my personal mission to create dishes that are easy for the average, busy person to make. Inexpensive, fast, and delicious – not at all “elite” or out of reach. Because veganism is not hard, and it is not expensive. I hope that this comes through in our posts and recipes.
We are accepting of everyone, not just vegans or even vegetarians. If you eat meat, welcome to our corner of the world. Yup, you heard right. We’re not here to shove our views down your throat, but to educate you on the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle and how you can incorporate this new way of living into your current life. If you eventually go vegetarian or vegan, then we are more than excited. But to us, it is more about doing the least harm and the most good for our planet. We know that everyone is not perfect, and we are not here to judge – we want to inspire!
When you head over to our site, you’ll find a wide range of topics/posts – from recipes to cruelty-free tips to hilarious and relatable GIF posts. Seriously… we love GIF posts. Like this one on 15 vegan habits (because you know you have ‘em). There is something for everyone, so don’t be shy.
Here are five of my favourite recipes from our blog, The Friendly Fig:
#2: Avo Glow Bowl
I hope that you’ll come along and follow my colorful, honest, and creative vegan journey. See below for some of my favorite recipes to date. Thanks for getting to know a little bit about me and The Friendly Fig! We look forward to getting to know your story, too. xx bianca
Thanks so much Bianca for sharing this with us today!
